ESAP Coalition is a community-based group working collaboratively to positively impact the environment for Evanston youth — their homes, their schools, and the greater community — making it safer, healthier, and drug-free. Alcohol and marijuana are the most commonly used drugs among Evanston teens and our marijuana use rates are well above County, State, and National averages. We are assembling a small group to share information and perspectives on youth alcohol and marijuana use in Evanston. The group will use the information to develop a community-wide plan to prevent and reduce use. We would like to invite YOU to share your valuable input and expertise by attending a total of three 1.5 hour meetings over the summer. All meetings will be held in Room 2403 at the Civic Center; meetings will take place at the following dates and times:
* Thursday, June 21, from 4:00-5:30pm
* Thursday, July 19, from 4:00-5:30pm
* Thursday, August 16, from 4:00-5:30pm
Please let us know by Friday, June 15th if you will be able to join us for these meetings. We want to learn what you see, hear, and know; in fact, we cannot effectively address substance use in our community without knowing your valuable perspective on it. If there is someone else you think should be included in this dialogue, feel free to invite him/her — our goal is to assemble a small, but diverse group of voices and views.
